Job summary

Are you a friendly and organised individual who can help us deliver the very best patient focussed experience? Then talk to us about joining our team. We are looking for a Dental Receptionist/Administrator to be the welcoming face of one of our community dental clinics based in Taunton. Working alongside a colleague, you will be greeting patients, relatives/carers and visitors to our community dentistry service, managing bookings and taking payments where appropriate. Whilst some patients may occasionally exhibit challenging behaviour and require some extra support, your professionalism and empathy will ensure as positive experience as possible for everyone.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for dedicated individuals to welcome our patients, carers, and relatives with warmth and professionalism. Your excellent customer care skills, positive attitude, and proactive approach will ensure effective communication and the extra attention needed for those who require it most.

As a vital member of our clinic's team, you will handle booking and follow-up appointments, developing strong relationships with colleagues in the Single Point of Access to ensure a seamless and smooth patient journey through our service.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A good standard of education with 3 GCSEs or equivalent.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in Administration or Customer Service or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of data entry systems with accurate keyboard skills.
  • Experience and competency in using IT software packages -- Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working within a dental service.
  • Previous experience of reception duties.
  • Previous experience of working in a team.
  • Experience of handling patient payments.
  • Previous experience of working with patients with Additional needs

  • Must be a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance.
