We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ward Manager to join our Neonatal Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital, working in collaboration with the Unit Manager to lead and develop our neonatal services. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced neonatal nurse to take on a leadership role, ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients and their families.

Main duties of the job
- Assist with leading and co-ordinating the clinical, managerial and educational requirements of a defined clinical area, ensuring adequate systems are in place to support continuity over 24 hour/7 day period.
- Lead by example; maintain visibility and accessibility for staff, patients and visitors, including undertaking direct clinical care of patients.
- Provide nursing leadership within the unit team which empowers staff to deliver patient-centred, evidence-based nursing care within a defined budget.
- Maintain and monitor standards of care to ensure patient safety and quality of care and to resolve failures of standards of care in all areas of the patient environment
- Participate in the line management of a team comprising registered practitioners, support workers and clerical staff
