Job summary

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Children, Young People & Families Service Group Leadership Team.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for enquiries, offering advice and guidance while managing confidential, complex, and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. You will work independently to resolve day-to-day challenges and make informed decisions within agreed areas of responsibility, ensuring that departmental, Trust, and national standards, policies, and procedures are met.

Main duties of the job

As a key member of the CYP & Families Leadership Team, you will also take on corporate responsibilities and contribute to specific project work, supporting the team in delivering high-quality services.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Personal Assistant or in a similar high-level administrative role.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring professional interactions at all levels.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems to support effective workflow.

  • Educated to degree level
  • GCSE A Levels or equivalent
  • RSA/OCR III or equivalent typing/word processing

Desirable

  • Diploma level/NVQ 4 in Business and

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in taking minutes
  • Experience in managing small projects
  • Experience of setting up and maintaining office systems
  • Advanced decision making and resolving complex work-related issues.
  • Maintaining good working relationships across a range of staff levels both internally and externally

Desirable

  • At least 3 years previous experience working as a PA to a Director/Senior Manager
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Experience in shorthand
  • Experience in Audio Typing

  • Conscientious and reliable with a willingness to be flexible in order to meet the needs of the service.
  • Required to spend a considerable period of a working day sitting in front of a VDU.
