Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a specialist role where you can make a real impact on patient care? We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Trauma & Orthopaedics Team at Yeovil District Hospital.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of our Occupational Therapy team, you'll provide expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice to patients with a range of orthopaedic and trauma-related conditions--from elective surgery to emergency injuries. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery, enhance independence, and facilitate timely discharges.
What You'll Do:
- Provide specialist occupational therapy interventions for patients with trauma and orthopaedic conditions.
- Offer clinical leadership within the team, supervising junior staff and students.
- Lead on service development and quality improvement initiatives within Trauma and Orthopaedics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and discharge planning.
- Deliver training and education to staff and contribute to clinical governance and best practice development
