Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join the Bariatric Team at Musgrove Park Hospital.
We are looking for a looking for an enthusiastic person to take on the role of Bariatric and Weight Management Pathway Coordinator. This is an integral position developed to facilitate equality of access for all patients across the South-West, ensuring robust administration processes from entry into weight management service through to bariatric surgery.
The role includes but is not limited to creating and maintaining systems, databases and documents, dealing with enquiries from managers, staff and service users and running multiple MDT meetings.
Main duties of the job
- Be a main point of contact for the specialty, having full knowledge of specialty processes, or know where to resource help or to find answers
- To develop, support and facilitate MDT meetings
- Tracking patients through the entire pathway from referral to weight management through to bariatric surgery if appropriate
- Provide effective communication between Clinicians, General Practitioners, multidisciplinary teams, patients, managers and all necessary internal and external contacts to achieve an excellent and smooth patient pathway. Enquires contact can be via telephone, correspondence, email or face-to-face requiring a sensitive and patient manner. The post holder will require a high level of competence and confidence with a strict requirement of confidentiality
- Assist clinical staff with audit, research, etc, providing information from databases or medical records
