Job summary
As a management lead for the specialty area, you will be working with triumvirate colleagues to actively promote a culture of care reflecting Somerset Foundation Trust's values and leadership behaviours.
Working closely with appropriate clinicians, you will be managing the department's performance, and be accountable for the delivery of clinical, non clinical and physical resources.
Ensuring that robust governance arrangements are in place and strategic demands on the services are met, you will also be responsible for meeting key performance targets for quality, volume and cost, whilst taking a proactive role in continuous service development and improvement.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of the departments performance in liaison with appropriate clinicians and administrative support. Performance includes key local and national performance relevant to service delivery and contracts, contributing to trust wide performance review meetings, and having performance monitoring arrangements within the service that are consistent with the Trust wide approach.
Ensuring that robust governance arrangements are in place, documented and reviewed appropriately. Working closely with triumvirate colleagues to ensure that governance is prioritised, and learning disseminated throughout the service.
A key part of the Triumvirate and Service Management with responsibility for the annual planning for the speciality and work with all colleagues to deliver the plan as required including elements of performance, workforce and governance.
Meet financial targets for quality, volume and cost and to take a proactive role in continuous service development, expansion, integration, and improvement.
