Job summary

This is a specialist communications and engagement role to support the successful delivery of two projects, the trust's New Hospitals Programme (NHP) and development of its Electronic Patient Record (EHR). Both are multi-million pound programmes that will improve healthcare and delivery.

This role is responsible for leading the communications and engagement for these programmes through new and established channels, promoting our flagship programmes, and keeping colleagues, patients and the public up to date and involved.

Main duties of the job

This role is responsible for planning, developing, delivering and evaluating communications and engagement for these flagship programmes, working closely with communications and engagement colleagues and with the programmes themselves within the trust and regionally and nationally.

You will be responsible for the design, planning, development, delivery and evaluation of communication and engagement plans, ensuring they link to and support the wider trust communication strategy and meet both programmes' objectives.

Essential

  • Educated to post graduate degree level or significant equivalent previous proven experience of working at a similar level in the area of media relations / communications
  • Demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development
  • High level of IT and digital competency
  • Competent in using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, and suchlike software
  • Competent in using video editing software
  • Experience of using website content management systems

Experience

Essential

  • Expert knowledge of digital marketing techniques, knowledge and understanding of health policies and the wider context in which the Trust operates.
  • Understanding of best practice with respect to implementing corporate identity guidelines and style guides in a complex organisation.
  • Knowledge of the techniques measurement and evaluation.
  • Previous experience working in a communications, marketing or a related field
  • Significant experience of leading successful internal and/or external campaigns and projects linked to an organisation's strategic aims and priorities.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the NHS and its structure
  • Experience of developing innovative digital channels for seldom heard audiences
  • Experience of developing digital engagement communications plans for major projects.
  • Experience of finding successful and positive solutions to complex communications challenges using the latest best practice.
  • Experience of developing and editing content for websites and other digital channels
