Job summary

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Ophthalmic OPD Nurse to join our dedicated team at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.

As an Ophthalmic OPD Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care to patients attending our department. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide expert care, supporting patients through their journey from diagnosis to treatment, while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.

There is an expectation that hours are worked flexibly over a rota basis.You will require good communication skills, a team work approach and be able provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of your team.Informal visits/chats always welcome - contact us today to discuss the position in more detail or organise for you to come and visit!.

Main duties of the job

To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care
