Are you a Paediatric Trained Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and support research at SFT? Maybe a Band 5 with at least 2 years post registration experience looking for development, or an experienced Band 6 looking for a new challenge.This opportunity is for a Paediatric Research Nurse to work within the Research and Development Department supporting a range of both non-commercial, commercial, vaccination and continuing care research studies across the Trust, with particular emphasis on the 0-19 age group.We value our Research Nurses highly, so development and training within this role will be offered and prioritised so that the post holder can conduct research safely in Paediatrics as part of the South West Research Network.The post holder is required to utilise a patient centred approach, have excellent communication skills and be accountable for the assessment, planning, organisation and ongoing care of research participants whilst maximising compliance. Main duties of the job
The post holder will be involved in the safe conduct of research in Paediatrics as part of the South West Research Network for patients 0-19 year old across many specialities and diseases.
They will support the selection and recruitment of participants according to inclusion/exclusion criteria which are trial specific. They will provide specialist advice and support for all participants during the trial period, taking a patient centred approach. They will need to adhere to the ICH guidelines for GCP, regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clinical research and related activities.
Excellent communication skills are required to liaise with the wider clinical care group and provide complex information in an understandable way to potential participants.
Attention to detail is required to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data collection so that studies are conducted both safely and effectively, meeting aims and outcomes of the study design and ensuring patient safety.
This position will require the post holder to be proactive and outgoing in promoting research to both clinicians and patients, giving both staff and patients the opportunities to be involved in research.
There will be some community work required the post holder will require access to a vehicle and valid driving licence.
