Montacute North is a 22 bedded unit that is unique in that is provides care to patients with complex vascular needs. It sits under the Surgical Services Group and accepts both planned and emergency patients from within and outside of the county (as we are part of a vascular network). We regularly deliver complex wound care, manage vascular pain and plan multifactorial discharges.
We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative individual who has excellent communication skills, high standards and a passion for high quality patient care. You will act as a clinical role model delivering high quality care whilst providing support and development to the ward team.
Ward leadership experience is desirable but not essential and we are happy to consider full and part time roles for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.Band 6 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the ward manager, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care
