Job summary
To work as a member of the Intensive Dementia Service, providing an alternative to hospital admission for people with dementia.
The post holder may be required to work flexibly at times to meet the needs of the service.
To provide efficient administrative support within the Intensive Dementia Service.
To communicate with patients and carers in order to arrange appointments and provide information.
To ensure the timely return of statistical data as required
Main duties of the job
To help develop, organise and implement office systems that ensure waiting times are monitored and adhered to, including filing, post messages etc.
To provide information to patients, staff, carers, relatives, GPs, Community Mental Health Teams, relating to appointments, care, the service and meetings, verbally, by telephone, face to face or written, in a tactfully and courteous manner, often requiring non-clinical advice, involving careful analysis of delicate situations regarding patient care, requiring knowledge of patient confidentiality.
To establish and maintain good working relationships with all disciplines of staff within the team.
Participating in appropriate meetings, training and service development.
Assisting with ensuring there are appropriate staff on duty.
To organise and prioritise own routine and non routine daily workload.
Undertake necessary follow up action arising from meetings.
