Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our committed and progressive Podiatry Service as Clinical Specialist Podiatrist in Diabetes & Wound Care for 12-months to cover maternity leave.
This role is suitable for an experienced Band 7, or a Band 6 looking to develop and take the next step up in your career.
Being a car driver is essential for this post to work in the clinics in the community setting. Please indicate on your application if you have a valid driving licence for the UK and if you have access to a vehicle which can be used for work purposes.

You will be part of a friendly and supportive integrated team of over 30 staff. The post is predominantly based at Musgrove Park Hospital with the requirement to cover community clinics in the West locality (Taunton and Bridgwater).
You will have an in-depth working knowledge of wound care and management of the high-risk patient, including vascular assessment using ankle and toe pressures, biomechanical assessment and offloading.
You will take a lead role in advancing podiatric care across our countywide service. You will be a key member in our leadership team, driving service improvement to deliver a seamless multi-disciplinary approach to management of the foot. You will work closely with colleagues in the acute trusts, community services and primary care. The successful candidate will endeavour to improve and maintain these links, encouraging members of the Podiatry team to engage with patient care at all levels.

- Health and Care Professions Council Registered Podiatrist.
- Evidence of continual professional and personal development.
- Degree / Diploma in Podiatric Medicine.
- Further qualification at Masters Level in relevant field or evidence or speciality related validated post registration education such as the Diabetic Foot Module.
- Local analgesia certificate

- Non-medical prescriber qualification
- Teaching qualification e.g.Cert Ed
Experience

- Experience of the management of high-risk foot including basic biomechanical assessment
