Job summary

Physiotherapist, to cover maternity leave on a fixed-term basis.The Reablement Team covers the intermediate care pathway beds in the Taunton area. This currently includes beds at Oake Meadows Care Home.Do you enjoy completing rehabilitation in an inpatient setting for a varied, complex caseload? We receive service-users discharged from the acute hospitals that require ongoing rehabilitation prior to discharge to their next destination for a period of up to 6 weeksIntermediate care services in Somerset are well established and have been hugely successful in shaping policy at a national level. Main duties of the job

In this post, you will be supported to:To provide high quality patient-centered care and specialist rehabilitation to adults referred to the Intermediate Care Bedded Pathway Service.The post holder will be required to work their hours over 7 days, including out of hours, weekends and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the service.Must be a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel throughout the Trust, to meet the needs of the serviceTake a role in the development of the Intermediate Care Service within SomersetYour professional supervision, includes support from the team leader who is an experienced AHP therapist, working with you in intermediate care. Links with other physiotherapists within the intermediate care service will be supported.

  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses
  • Post graduate accredited course in Care of the Elderly

Desirable

  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Membership of relevant CSP special interest group

Experience

Essential

  • Proven post graduate experience with extensive clinical experience relevant to the post.
  • Experience of a wide range of clinical rehabilitation areas of practice to include elderly patients with complex multi-pathology, neurological, orthopaedics etc
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in a Community Hospital setting
  • Experience of lone working
  • Experience of service development and review
