Job summary

Are you interested in Paediatrics?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dietitian to join our progressive and friendly team.

Our supportive team is experienced, highly regarded, integral members of the wider multidisciplinary paediatric teams, providing both inpatient and outpatient services.

You will need to be passionate about working with children. This would be an excellent role for a Dietitian who already has some experience in Paediatrics and wishes to expand their skills. Alternatively, this could be an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian, with good transferable skills, who wishes to develop their experience in Paediatrics. Training and support will be provided once you are in post.

We are looking for a candidate who can work a minimum of 22.5 hours but we understand work life balance is extremely important and support flexible working. We warmly welcome informal discussions prior to applying - please contact us: 01935 384250.

Main duties of the job

As a Paediatric Dietitian you will provide inpatient cover to the paediatric wards and offer outpatient services to infants and children at Yeovil District Hospital for faltering growth, eating disorders, diabetes, food allergies, preterm infants and restrictive diets. We are also an integral part of MDTs within the Organisation. We have an excellent reputation within and outside the trust and we have exciting plans to expand our paediatric service in the future.

At Yeovil District Hospital we have a 23 bed inpatient ward, a 8 cot Special Care baby unit (SCBU) and we provide Paediatric outpatient clinics which are run as a mixture of face to face, video (Attend Anywhere) and telephone. We also provide ad hoc cover to consultant paediatrician clinics as required and are also part of some MDT clinics.

About us

Yeovil District Hospital is now part of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression, and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone!
