Job summary

The main purpose of the position is to provide support to the Deputy Pharmacy Systems Manager in the ongoing management of the clinical pharmacy systems during the Pharmacy Systems Manager's maternity leave.

The job provides a great opportunity if you are interested in wider pharmacy-based project work or non-patient facing pharmacy activities. The role can provide valuable experience if you are interested in the processes associated with system management and overall change management in the health care sector.

Main duties of the job

As Pharmacy Systems Assistant, you'll look after the day-to-day management of queries, training, reporting, and troubleshooting relating to the pharmacy systems. These include:

  • Kelsius fridge monitoring system
  • Pharmacy stock control system
  • Pharmacy dispensing robot
  • In-house pharmacy stock ordering system
  • Pharmacy supply request tracking systems

Qualifications

Essential

  • General secondary education including GCSE, CSE or equivalent in English Language and Maths at grade C or 4.

Desirable

  • NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services (or equivalent or to be achieved within 18 months of commencement).

Experience

Essential

  • Able to work with computers.
  • Previous pharmacy or system management experience.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in producing training materials and delivering training.
  • Experience in using pharmacy IT systems.
  • Experience of working in a hospital environment.

Additional Criteria

Essential

  • Analytical ability for problem solving.
  • Good ability in the usage of the Microsoft suite of software e.g. Excel, Teams, Word and Outlook.

Desirable

  • Able to produce training materials and deliver training in pharmacy systems
