Job summary
Hestercombe south west is a welcoming supportive team with 29 beds all in side rooms. The surgical specialities we look after are Trauma & Orthopaedics, gynae, gynae oncology and Bariatrics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing clinical and managerial leadership to the ward team. Leading by example, maintaining visibility and accessibility to staff, patients and their relatives. You will report to the ward manager and in their absence take charge of the ward.
Main duties of the job
As deputy ward manager you be expected to be a role model for registered nurses, health care assistants and students, ensuring staff of all grades are supported in their work. You will also be responsible for the completion of audits and reports with the guidance of Matron and/or Senior ward manager.
The post holder will provide visible leadership, demonstrate a passion for delivering safe and efficient care whilst working collaboratively with the multi disciplinary team. You will work closely with the senior ward manager on staff recruitment, retention and colleagues development.
