Job summary
The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Yeovil Hospital part of Somerset Foundation Trust are looking for highly-motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Radiographers to join our diverse radiographer team. You will be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, whose aim is to provide a polite, friendly and patient-focused service to patients attending a busy Radiology Department.
Participating in our Out of Hours service, rotating through ED, General, theatre, Portables, Fluoroscopy and peripheral sites working across all areas in Diagnostic Imaging and work in our new CDC adjacent to the main hospital alongside In-Heath staff.
We ask that you demonstrate exceptional clinical and professional standards, consistently deliver the highest quality patient-focused care to our patients, and provide evidence of ongoing CPD.
Our radiographers have a positive attitude to team working and good organisational and communication skills.

Main duties of the job
The position is suitable for a band 5 Radiographer looking for a new challenge within our busy general hospital or a newly qualified radiographer looking for their first job in a supportive environment. You will undertake a wide variety of examination including general radiography, fluoroscopy, theatre and mobile radiography with a rotation through CT within the first 6 months.All radiographers rotate through CT scanning on a regular basis. As a Band 5 rotational radiographer you will be offered formal and practical training in CT scanning within the first few months of employment and would be expected to assist in the scanning of outpatient, inpatient and acute patients in hours and scan acute patients both in and out of hours. Additionally, you would be trained in IV Cannulation, if not already held.We actively encourage role development and support staff in achieving their personal goals and aspirations. A practical and professional attitude to work is essential.Applicants must be adaptable and be prepared to work evenings, nights and weekends as part of a seven-day service delivery and also to work at satellite units, therefore a UK driving licence holder with ability and willingness to travel as required.
You will be expected to participate in flexible working patterns . We operate a shift system, so there is plenty of time off to relax and meet up with friends.
