We may be the answer! Our dynamic Talking Therapies Service is expanding, and we are looking for new Assessment Workers based within our Taunton and Bridgwater Teams.
You will deliver a high quality and comprehensive mental health assessment, advice and consultation service to both referrers and patients. You will be assessing patients with the most complex presentations and determining whether they have a common mental health problem suitable for a psychological approach within Talking Therapies, or if their needs would be best met by a referral on to other agencies.
WE ARE a busy NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression service in one of England's most desirable counties. We offer time-limited Step 3 interventions as well as innovative Step 2 treatments, provided by our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners
WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU if you are a mental health professional looking to build your assessment skills and your experience in a Talking Therapies Service.
You will have experience as either a Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner or Graduate Mental Health Worker. if you are a motivated, flexible, self-directed, organised mental health professional we welcome your application.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities include:
- Offer the majority of assessments via the telephone.
- Offer face to face assessments to patients where needed.
- Provide warm transfers and referrals to other services.
- Screen new referrals and be part of the Duty Team as necessary and in agreement with their Team Leader.
- Maintain an informed and up-to-date knowledge of all interventions and innovations offered by the service to ensure they are able to refer patients to the correct treatment.
- Regularly liaise with a wide range of agencies, developing innovative ways to provide an accessible service across Somerset.
The post holder will be required to work flexible hours dependent on patient need. This includes hybrid working with some days remote working and some days in the office or clinic. The post holder will be required to work between sites as appropriate and based on service need.
