Specialist Occupational Therapist in Forensic CAMHS

Job summary
You will work as part of the team to contribute to the continued development and delivery of the Regional Forensic CAMHS for the South West (South) of England.
The Regional Forensic CAMHS team provide a service for young people with a range of needs, including a combination of mental health, neurodiverse and forensic presentations. This highly specialised service provides comprehensive, evidence-based advice, consultation, assessment, intervention and training. The post holder will be responsible for delivering these aspects of the service as part of the dedicated Forensic CAMHS team across the region. The team also has links with the National FCAMHS team to ensure alignment with national thinking, best practice, and training to drive ongoing development.
The team is small but multi-disciplinary, with representation from psychology, psychiatry, nursing and social work. The team understands the importance of a formulation led, trauma-informed approach, in addition to the need for clinical supervision and ongoing CPD opportunities. The team is looking to further expand its offer with representation from occupational therapy. Secondments would be welcomed for this post, and the team operates under a hybrid model; with predominantly remote working, some office working, in addition to regional visits as clinically required.
Main duties of the job
You will have the responsibility to work as part of a team undertaking the following tasks:
- To provide a specialist occupational therapy service for the FCAMHS team, across the South West.
- To develop and undertake specialist assessments and interventions with this client group.
- To provide advice to other professionals working with the FCAMHS cohort of young people in other settings.
- To liaise closely with other professionals working in specialist services.
- To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of OT knowledge and practice within the service.
