The role forms a key part of the operational delivery of front-line maintenance services, defect & breakdown response and pre-planned maintenance tasks (PPM). The role will act as the lead electrical technician/team leader for a team of electrical craftsperson's.
Main duties of the job
- Act as the first contact for Estates Craftsperson's and primarily if required in the first instance escalate to the maintenance officer and/or other technical estates officers
- To communicate verbally or electronically with clinical colleagues, service manager, clients, and communicate the need to arrange access/shutdown of services to ensure we can provide around the clock services
- interpret complex engineering information or sensitive information, Maintaining confidentiality
- Adopt, coach and develop the craft team via clear communication to ensure local operational procedures to ensure we adopt legislative, guidance, best practice and/or manufacturer's instructions
- As Maintenance Technician/Electrical Team Leader provide guidance & and advise explaining technical issues to non-technical staff, where required refer to Maintenance manager or Estates officers.
- Provide professional communication to members of the public and other external entities
- Attend team meetings to gain Trust, Directorate and service information
- Report all hazards or potential hazards that could involve patients, visitors or staff.
- Be mindful of and exercise the need for confidentiality both in written and verbal communication
- To support succession planning act as a mentor via the sharing knowledge, skills & experience maintenance craftsman and assistants.
