Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity within the Pharmacy Department at Musgrove Park Hospital.

Would you like a varied job role working in a number of different service areas in Pharmacy, to further develop your skills and experience including the following:

  • Dispensary: to accurately dispense medicines for patient discharge along with dispensing for out-patient clinics.
  • Ward Services: To visit wards to provide a medicines top-up service and also to assist with other medicines related activities.
  • Beacon Production Unit - Aseptically preparing individual Chemotherapy treatment for patients either on the ward or in the Beacon Day unit.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work along side a team of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians to provide the comprehensive range of services detailed above.

Dispensing will be carried out via a newly installed superfast robot to aid efficiency & accuracy. Along with this we have also had significant upgrades in other key service areas.

Training to undertake any of the roles above will be provided by our lead team who will plan and organise your 1:1 training and mentoring to help you whilst you develop your skills.
