Job summary

Are you an experienced Clinical Coder with ACC Accreditation looking to take the next step in your career?

Here at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, we have an opportunity for you to join our existing professional team of Clinical Coders.

This vacancy is for a Team Leader on the East Team based at Yeovil District Hospital where you will manage a small team of Qualified and Trainee Coders supported by Clinical Coding Managers. This is a hybrid role, with opportunity for both on-site and remote working.

Main duties of the job

Clinical coding is a high profile area of work and our team collects data about every patient who visits the Trust, investigating all aspects of their journey. Our role is essential for the effective management of the Trust and directly influences patient care and the Trust's income though Payment by Results and future contracts.

We also actively link in with the Trusts Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) team which is a national project pulling together all the good things we do to enable us to learn from other Trusts.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinical coder looking to advance their career within the profession. We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual who is able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
