Job summary

Our Acute site, Musgrove Park hospital is looking to recruit Healthcare Support Workers to be a part of our fantastic care team here in Taunton.

We are looking to support individuals who are new to care with no prior experience, but have a passion for caring and supporting individuals.

Working for the NHS can be challenging as our hospital provides acute care for patients across Somerset, so we are extremely busy. However our teams are supportive and welcoming, we will encourage you to learn and thrive in your new role and we will provide you with all the training required to deliver excellent care.

We also have development opportunities into senior healthcare support worker roles and even offer nursing apprenticeships if you want to become a nurse in the future. The opportunities are there for you.

We are looking for individuals who are compassionate and caring, great at chatting and listening to our patients to provide reassurance at a time when they may be feeling worried. Overall you must have a commitment to the health and wellbeing of the people we care for.

Main duties of the job

Experience of working in a care setting would be advantageous but all necessary skills training, professional updates and mandatory training as appropriate to the post will be provided.

Shift patterns: As an acute hospital service we provide 24 hours, 7 days a week care to our patients, as such working shifts is essential for this role. You would be working shift pattern of:

Days: Between the hours of 7am and 7:30pm

Nights: Between the hours of 7pm and 7:30 am

Rotas cover: Weekdays, Weekends and Bank Holidays (we have enhanced pay for weekends, nights and bank holidays)

We do offer part time hours anything from 24 hours (2 long days) and under 37.5 hours
