Job summary
This is a great time to join Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, and we're looking for an Art Psychotherapist who is passionate about using their clinical expertise to further shape and deliver inpatient services in a role that provides the opportunity to transform lives. Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is a trailblazer for innovative services and was recently voted Mental Health Trust of the Year 2021.
Are you wanting to work with people who present with complex mental health issues? Do you enjoy supporting and supervising other clinical colleagues to do this safely and effectively? Are you keen to develop new skills and take on new challenges? If the answers are yes, then read on as we believe we have an exciting opportunity for you.
Main duties of the job
We have greatly expanded our mental health psychological staffing in inpatient and urgent care and want to add to this by bringing on board an enthusiastic and highly motivated Art Therapist with the passion, skills and determination to help shape and transform our offering in inpatient services.
You will be fully supported and empowered to work autonomously to develop your role, while working closely with the existing lead psychologist in post, the modality lead for Art Therapy, as well as other professionals within the urgent care pathway.
Ideally, you will have a background in Community or Inpatient Mental Health and be passionate about improving the lives of people with complex mental health problems. We will consider applications from newly qualified Art Therapists who can show relevant experience during training.
About us
As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression, and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.
The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.
There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone!
