Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS Maintenance team as we are expanding our estate! We are looking for a Carpenter to join our team!
You will be part of a small mobile team providing front line maintenance services consisting of reactive, defect and breakdown response and pre-planned maintenance tasks for Community and Mental Health properties in the County of Somerset.
You will carry out planned preventative maintenance across a range of building related equipment and services.
To undertake new and modification work within the post holders skills and experience. The object of the job is to contribute to the delivery of effective, efficient and economical day-to-day maintenance, new and alteration works to ensure the safety of patients, staff and members of the public.
Main duties of the job
- Fire door inspection and repair
- Making good damage to doors and surrounds
- Repair damage to walls and floors
- Paint areas where necessary
- Clearing Drains when necessary
- Work with other staff in undertaking a comprehensive planned maintenance programme in accordance with statutory, mandatory and economic requirements.
- Undertake maintenance tasks, unsupervised, such as replacing smoke seals
- Check windows including restrictors are operating correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness of plant rooms and workshops.
Carry out day to day maintenance of works and checks of equipment and vehicles
