An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate individual to contribute to and shape the future of the maternity services in Somerset.
We are looking for a senior experienced dynamic midwife to join the team as a Matron for Maternity Services. We need someone who possesses strong clinical leadership with excellent communication and networking skills.
You need to be self motivated, enthusiastic and have a drive for continuous improvement in maternity safety and experience.
To provide clinical and professional midwifery leadership and accountability for the following clinical areas:
- Community Midwifery services including intrapartum function of the Bracken and Mary Stanley Midwifery Led Birth Centres
- Maternity Outpatients
- Specialist services for safeguarding
- Antenatal and Newborn Screening
To have continuing responsibility for the management of cost effective clinical services in obstetrics and midwifery ensuring high standards of care are provided in line with corporate objectives.

Main duties of the job
