Job summary
We are seeking to recruit 2 x Band 3 Medical Secretaries who have a passion for high quality customer care to work within the Haematology Department.
We have 2 full-time permanent posts - working 37.5 hours per week - working arrangements can be flexible.
You'll provide comprehensive secretarial support to the current admin team, consultants, associate specialists, and other allied health professionals.We are looking for someone who can use their own initiative, work well with other people, be able to work on their own as well as being able to approach others for support. The right candidate will have excellent IT and typing skills.

Main duties of the job
You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including medical, nursing and administrative staff.
Communicating with patients, colleagues, internal and external contacts in a courteous, professional and timely manner at all times by various methods, i.e., telephone, written, face to face.

- Deal with day to day correspondence
- Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where necessary
- Prioritise own work efficiently and effectively, highlighting any issues to the Band 4 Medical Secretary
- Type all forms of clinical correspondence as dictated by medical staff, by use of audio or copy typing
Liaising with appropriate personnel in the multidisciplinary team to gather and co-ordinate patient information so this is accessible in a timely manner.
