Job summary

As a COVID 19 Clinical Supervisor you be responsible for overseeing a team of vaccinators. You will be responsible for:

Main duties of the job

  • Supervising clinical assessments of patients prior to vaccination
  • Supporting the reviews of complex medical histories, any potential adverse reactions and offering specialist advice as needed.
  • Ensuring the vaccination station, from set up to running the station, complies with relevant procedures
  • Clinical supervision of safe immunisations
  • Supervision of drawing up and preparation of the vaccine before administration and ensuring that each vaccine activity is recorded.
  • Delivery of the safe immunisation service and assisting any agreed changes needed within the setting and service areas.
  • Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up to date skills and adhering to policies and procedures

Job responsibilities

To assist with and become an integral part of the Somerset vaccination programme

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of vaccinations.

The post holder will undertake a clinical supervisory role, overseeing a team of vaccinators.

To organize and lead outreach/roving teams as requested by the Clinical Manager.

To be responsible for day to day shift management of the team under the leadership of the Clinical Manager as appropriate for the clinical area and clinical priorities. This will include both adult and childrens vaccinations.

To assist in leadership and development of staff in the team and to act as a positive role model for more junior members of staff and students

To be responsible for the implementation of service development and transformation

To ensure that all staff in the team act in accordance with Trust HR and other relevant policies, along with the appropriate professional code of conduct

The post holder will be required to deputise for the line manager in their absence.
