Job summary
We are seeking a Private and Overseas Patients Officer to come and support the Paying Patients Team at CUH.
Paying Patients incorporates the Private Patients Team, the Overseas Visitors Team, and a small dedicated Credit Control Team; all of which is focused on delivering non-NHS income to support the Trust's financial sustainability.
The Private Patients Officer supports the professional administrative service provided by the Paying Patients Unit to all users including patients, relatives, consultants, and colleagues and ensures all income from private activity is correctly identified, charged and collected.
You will be motivated, self-driven, have good attention to detail with excellent communication and organisational skills and confidence with Microsoft Office software including Excel.
This is an interesting and challenging role which offers the post-holder the opportunity to directly contribute to service and process development and work with stakeholders across the Trust, and externally.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will help to maximise the Trust's potential to carry out private and overseas patient activities:
Raise invoices accurately.
Liaise with all stakeholders including consultants and insurance companies to ensure authorisation for payment is secured for all private patients' activities.
Work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholder to ensure swift and effective resolution of queries to avoid income loss.
