Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Cardiology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) services at Cambridge University Hospitals as a Band 4 Outsourcing Administrator.

Your primary focus will be on outsourcing pathways that support reduction of backlog and long waits for Cambridge University Hospitals' patients. The post holder will ensure timely identification and transfer of eligible cases to approved external providers, maintain visibility of progress, and provide clear communication to patients, clinicians, and partners so that outsourced care is delivered safely, kindly, and to an excellent standard.

Main duties of the job

The Outsourcing Administrator will operate and continuously maintain the outsourcing patient tracker ensuring data quality, completeness, and auditability. They will also produce weekly status reports and exception lists for Service/Operations leads.

It is expected that the post holder will run eligibility checks against agreed clinical criteria and target wait thresholds, flagging candidates for outsourcing and preparing case packs (referral letter, diagnostics, imaging, clinic notes).

You will be required to provide tracking and data from external providers (appointment dates, next steps, letters received); escalate breaches and risks promptly to the Deputy Operations Manager.

The ability to work independently, being able to organise and prioritise your own workload and communicate effectively to a varied audience is essential.

You will be part of a dedicated and friendly team working together to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our patients, keeping them at the centre of what we do.
