Join our dynamic team at Ward D9, the oncology ward with 33 dedicated beds. We are currently seeking a driven Sister/Charge Nurse to complement our passionate Specialist Team.

With a comprehensive range of therapies and specialised support, our focus is on providing exceptional treatment alongside valuable training opportunities for our staff.
As a Sister/Charge Nurse on Ward D9 you will work closely with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to oversee the ward's daily operations. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the delivery of safe, personalised, and evidence-based care to our oncology patients, while fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture among all staff members.
This role includes a variety of shifts, encompassing nights and weekends, and requires holding the divisional bleep.
Prior experience in oncology nursing is essential, reflecting our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and support within this complex and evolving specialty.
Main duties of the job
- Assist the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in the overall management of the ward.
- Ensure patients receive safe, individualised, holistic, and evidence-based care tailored to their oncology needs.
- Provide leadership to all members of the ward, promoting effective teamwork and professional development.
- Ensure efficient patient flow within the Trust and Cancer Directorate, supporting bed management and timely transitions.
- Act as Divisional bleep holder and provide out-of-hours Acute Oncology Service (AOS) cover.
