Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of a Consultant in Clinical Oncology Skin and Renal Cancers (8PAs). This is a substantive post to commence as soon as possible.The successful candidate joining the established skin and renal teams within the Cancer Directorate at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic colleague to join our team. It is expected that the prospective candidate will have significant skin and renal cancer experience, with a particular emphasis on renal SABR, treatment of skin lymphoma, planning and delivering skin radiotherapy, trial development and recruitment.
We would expect applicants to:o Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of skin and renal cancerso Share with colleagues the responsibility for day-to-day management of the clinical serviceo Participate in complex radiotherapy planning and treatment techniqueso Deliver systemic therapyo Recruit to and actively participate in clinical trialso Play an active role in the design of original clinical trials and studieso Supervise undergraduates, junior doctors and other staffo Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, ward rounds and on call commitmentsYou will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have CCT in Clinical Oncology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. About us
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
