We have an exciting opportunity for a hard-working individual with operational experience to join Division D as Deputy Operations Manager.
You will be responsible for a defined set of specialities within the division, working in partnership with the Clinical Director and nursing leadership team.
Division D is responsible for Neurosciences, EPOV (Ear, Nose and Throat, Head & Neck, Plastics, Oral/Maxillofacial, Vascular Surgery) and CDG-MODEL (Cardiology, Medical Genetics, Metabolic Medicine, Obesity, Diabetes/Endocrinology and Lipids). We deliver around half of the outpatient activity and a third of the surgical activity across the hospital and run 13 wards. Many of our services have regional footprints, and we work closely with networks, the Cancer Alliance, NHSE and ICBs to deliver high-quality care to patients across the East of England and further afield.
The key focus of this post will be on delivering the key objectives and targets for the services and Division. The post holder will contribute to strategic and annual business planning for their service areas, including the engagement of senior medical and other staff, as required. They will also coordinate the planning, development and implementation of service improvement, capital and other projects for the areas they are responsible for. They will administer clinical governance processes within their areas and assist in the management of risk, as well as provide cross cover within the Division if required.
Main duties of the job
Overseeing the provision of clinical services within the defined service area of responsibility including the direct engagement of all staff including administrative, nursing and clinicians in the delivering of the clinical service.
Lead the delivery of outstanding services in accordance with agreed objectives, targets (including RTT, Diagnostics and Cancer targets), quality standards, controls and resource constraints as set out in the business plans for the services delivered by the directorate
Contribute to the development of strategic and business plans for the defined service areas, working closely with the Operations Manager, Associate Director of Operations, Clinical Director and other Directorate colleagues.
Under delegated authority from the Operations Manager, manage the defined service areas within the agreed and available resources, in accordance with the Trusts 'Standing Financial Instructions' and Standing Orders.
Working under direction from the Operations Manager, contribute to the formulation and execution of service reviews and recommend and implement different models of care as appropriate, involving clinical and managerial colleagues from the Trust and ICBs as required.
