Job summary
Applications are invited for a Consultants in Acute General Gynaecology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) to commence as soon as possible.
This post is designed to covering Emergency Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy unit.
Main duties of the job
These posts are designed to provide high-quality clinical care to patients presenting with problems relating to Acute Emergency General Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy problems. The key role of this post is the provision of Emergency Acute Gynaecology cover for daytime Emergency Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Unit. The aim is to provide Consultant delivered care and supervision for daytime (weekdays only) emergency Gynaecology and early pregnancy patients and support the junior doctors on call.
The candidates will also be encouraged to have special interest in other areas i.e. menopause, ambulatory Gynaecology, recurrent miscarriage, scanning etc.
These posts do not have any out of hours during the week or weekend on call cover requirements and will be attractive for any candidate who does not wish to do out of hours and weekend on call.
The weekday daytime only on call commitment will be 1:3 with prospective cover shared between 3 Acute Gynaecology Consultants.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
