Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Imaging Service Manager to join our multi-disciplinary team at Cambridge Breast Unit.
The service delivers both breast screening and symptomatic mammography. The Cambridge Breast Unit uses fully digital mammography with three mammography rooms, all being tomosynthesis systems.
We perform a range of examinations and interventional procedures such as vacuum assisted biopsy. In addition, we have two mobile screening units to provide the important primary screening to the Cambridgeshire area.
Main duties of the job
To assist the Superintendent Radiographer in the operational management of the Breast Imaging Service and to deputise in her absence.
To promote and deliver a high quality Imaging Service for the screening population and for symptomatic referrals.
To have a detailed knowledge of all mammography equipment in the department and on screening vans. Also the data transfer pathway between the two. To act as trouble shooter when equipment faults occur, requesting engineer assistance when necessary.
Promote the clinical governance agenda of the Breast Unit.
Promote the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a nationally recognised centre of excellence in Breast Imaging.
