Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5/ST6+)/ Senior in the Department of Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is available from 07 September 2026 for a period of 12 months.
Main duties of the job
This post is geared towards furthering a career in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation with specific experience in HCC. This is available to applicants who are within or beyond Gastroenterology/Hepatology training who are either:
(1) want time out of program to pursue a clinical interest (out of program experience: OOPE),
or
(2) who are at the end of training and want post-CCT experience in tertiary Hepatology and Liver Transplantation.
In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria as noted in the person specification section of the job description.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
About us
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). A breadth of learning opportunities is available, depending on the applicants preference. These include Tertiary Hepatology, Liver Transplantation and Research. A contribution to the HCC service is expected for the duration of the post. The Department undertakes basic, translational and clinical research in alcoholic hepatitis, HCC, NASH, cholangiocyte biology and PBC in partnership with the University of Cambridge and Cambridge NIHR Biomedical Research Centre. The successful candidates would all contribute to the Hepatology on call rota.
