Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the paediatric regional centre for a variety of specialisms. We are excited to be planning for a new regional Children's Hospital due to open in 2029.
Following a successful pilot we are proud to establish a new permanent paediatric outreach respiratory community rapid response service bridging care between community, our Specialist Hospital and the local North West Anglia trusts. We are seeking highly motivated Band 7 staff to form a team, led by our Clinical lead, in order to deliver:
A preventative service which involves specialist respiratory physiotherapy assessment of children with complex physical disabilities who have additional respiratory problems, providing preventative daily chest management plans and training for families, carers, schools, and day care facilities in chest physiotherapy management strategies.

Main duties of the job
To work alongside the band 8a CPRRT Clinical Lead in the specialist assessment and management of children under the community rapid response service
To be responsible for ensuring physiotherapy management programmes are in place for all children under the care of the CPRRT service
To be responsible for ensuring appropriate standards of documentation and communication at local level both internal & external to the organisation.
To effectively manage resources i.e. equipment, facilities, staff.
To provide evidence based training & education to physiotherapists, doctors and health professionals.
To participate in audit and research projects within specialty and disseminate results through publication and presentation at conferences.
To promote the role of physiotherapy with children with neurodisability at local, national and international level.
Rapid response when the child is acutely unwell with a chest infection, this involves:
Rapid response when they become acutely unwell during service hours across 5 days.
Specialist emergency chest physiotherapy treatment to help prevent hospital admissions.
