Job summary

Addenbrooke's Hospital is the Primary Treatment Centre for children's cancer across the East of England. We work closely with our 9 Shared Care Hospitals in the Region to provide equitable access to clinical trials for children with cancer and blood disorders.

The Paediatric Haematology & Oncology Research Team has 2 posts (Full-time and part-time) available for an enthusiastic, experienced team players to join us as a Trial & Data Coordinators.

You will provide data management support for both commercial and non-commercially funded paediatric cancer trials undertaken at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

This role will involve the registration and randomisation of patients onto clinical trials, as per the trial protocol; ensuring the required tests/procedures are carried out accordingly and data is reported in compliance with GCP guidelines. You must complete GCP training and maintain their skills and knowledge.

Funding for these positions is available until 31 March 2027 in the first instance.

Part-time hours can be worked over 3 or 4 days, to ideally include a Friday.

Main duties of the job

To assist the Paediatric Haematology & Oncology multi-disciplinary team in the running of clinical trials, with specific responsibility for the day to day collection and transcription of data, reporting of any Serious Adverse Events and responding to data queries. You will be responsible for the submission of data using a variety of data capture tools. You will use effective communication with external agencies and internal teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data submitted.

You should be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, including excel and web-based databases, as well as an understanding of medical terminology.

You will need to demonstrate accurate attention to detail, problem-solving and use of initiative.

Previous experience within the NHS/Research would be desirable
