Cambridge University Hospitals is the designated Level 1 Major Trauma Centre for the East of England, forming the hub of a regional network that treats up to 800 people each year with serious, life-changing injuries. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage your own caseload, develop advanced clinical skills, and work closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in trauma and orthopaedic rehabilitation.

As Deputy Team Lead, you'll also contribute to service development, support audits and quality improvement projects, and provide mentorship to junior staff and students. Main duties of the job

Deliver high-quality physiotherapy care to trauma and orthopaedics patients across multiple units.

Perform advanced specialist assessments and develop individualised treatment programmes.

Supervise and mentor junior staff and physiotherapy students, ensuring professional standards.

Participate in service development, clinical audits, and evidence-based practice projects.

Deputise for the Team Lead, managing day-to-day team operations and workload allocation

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.

  • Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
  • HCPC State Registration
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate level education/CPD

Desirable

  • Membership of the Professional body e.g. The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or Professional Network.

Experience

  • Experience as a Band 5 in a broad range of specialities including respiratory, elderly care, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions
