Senior Specialist Audiologist Adult Hearing Implants - Emmeline Centre for hearing Implants

The Cambridge University Biomedical Campus (Addenbrooke's Hospital) is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist Audiologist to join the Emmeline Centre for Hearing implants. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated clinician looking to take the next step in their career within one of the UK's leading implant centres.

We are looking for a highly skilled Audiologist or Clinical Scientist who can work collaboratively with the Lead Audiologist and the wider senior team to further develop the Emmeline Centre as a centre of excellence. In this role, you will lead the adult, bone-conducting and middle-ear implant service and support the delivery of innovative and patient-focused care across our service.

You will be organised, efficient and committed to high-quality service delivery. You will have a strong track record in service development, innovation, and contributing to service-orientated research. Extensive clinical experience, underpinned by a robust understanding of the evidence base, is essential. You will also excel in promoting best practice both within the Emmeline Centre and across the wider audiology community.

Applicants should hold at least a BSc or MSc in Audiology (or an equivalent qualification) and demonstrate substantial clinical experience. AHCS or HCPC registration is required.

Main duties of the job

This role is a senior clinical and educational leadership post within the adult hearing implant service.

You are an experienced Audiologist/Clinical Scientist who will plan, deliver and continuously improve a high-quality, complex clinical service for adult recipients of middle ear implants and bone-conducting hearing devices (BCHD), in line with national and international best practice.

You will hold a defined leadership portfolio for adult hearing implant audiology, provide clinical autonomy for complex cases, and lead the training, supervision, competency development and appraisal of staff across the service.

The role embeds a strong training capacity: designing and delivering structured education, mentorship and competency sign-off for hearing and cochlear implant audiologists, trainees and wider MDT colleagues, fostering a learning culture that supports safe, evidence-based care.
