Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Consultant in Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine (10PA's). This is an exciting opportunity for a substantive consultant(s) based within the Paediatric Department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant(s) will join a multi-disciplinary team delivering a new Children and Young People's Gender Service (East of England).
Main duties of the job
This role is suited to a paediatrician with expertise in developmental and community paediatrics and/or adolescent health, a strong ethic of reflective practice and a passion for multi-disciplinary team working.
The Cass Review into gender services for children and young people has recommended that staff should maintain a broad clinical perspective by working across related NHS services in order to embed the care of children and young people with gender-related distress within a broader child and adolescent health context.
In order to facilitate this, we encourage part-time applications from staff already working in other NHS or community paediatric services. We can also work with successful candidates applying for full-time roles to agree a job plan that includes a mix of gender service activity and activity in another clinical or allied areas within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, for example safeguarding, general paediatrics, medical education.
