Job summary
Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow Higher (ST5/ST6+) in Complex Nutrition, Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplantation to commence from 07 September 2026 until 05 September 2027.
This post offers unique Out of Programme Experience (OOPE) in two of the UK's most prestigious hospitals. The fellowship can count as Training with agreement by the applicant's Training Programme Director.
The successful candidate will spend 6 months in the Intestinal and Multivisceral Transplant Unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge and 6 months in the Intestinal Rehabilitation Unit at St Mark's Hospital, London, though the option is available to spend the entire year at either site.
At Addenbrooke's, this role involves assessing patients' suitability for transplant and providing inpatient and outpatient care of patients post-transplant. At St Mark's, the post holder will gain specialist training in the care of patients with Intestinal Failure, malnutrition and advanced inflammatory bowel disease.
Main duties of the job
At both sites the post holder will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team including Gastroenterologists, Transplant and Colorectal Surgeons, Specialist Nurses, Dietitians, Pharmacists and other resident doctors.
Applicants should hold a national training number (NTN) in Gastroenterology Higher Specialty Training. The post can be taken up in ST5, ST6 or ST7 year. Applications are welcomed from non-UK Gastroenterology Trainees, however, preference will be given to those with a NTN. Flexible working can also be considered and applicants are encouraged to apply, following which job plans can be discussed if appointed.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
