Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• GCSE or equivalent Maths and English.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Desirable

• Management qualification.

Experience

Essential

• Proven experience in a senior administrative position, preferably within the NHS.
• Strong administrative/management skills including effective communication, team working and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyse complex problems.
• Experience of dealing with general public both on telephone and in person in a busy environment.
• Experience of working with surgical waiting lists and tracking patients through their 18 week pathways.

Desirable

• Working within a multidisciplinary team.
• Practical experience of managing projects and working in a large, complex organisation.

Knowledge

Essential

• Good understanding of confidentiality and data quality issues.
• Sound knowledge of office procedures.
• Medical terminology.
• Trust policies and procedures for managing staff.
• Excellent understanding of importance of NHS performance targets and initiatives.

Desirable

• Knowledge of the Trust including awareness of priorities.
• Knowledge of Trust information systems EPIC, Envoy and MyChart.
• Knowledge of RTT targets.

Skills

Essential

• Strong administrative/management skills including effective communication, team working and negotiation skills.
• Ability to influence others positively and act as a role model within a small team.
• Good computer skills in particular MS office/Microsoft outlook.
• Good time management and organisational skills to meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
• Maintain a calm and professional manner when dealing with challenging people and distressed patients.

• Demonstrate attention to detail.

Desirable

• Use of EPIC or other computerised hospital databases.
