Job summary

Applications are invited for two substantive Consultant Gynaecologists with interest in Gynaecological Oncology (BGCS Unit Lead equivalent, supporting the CUH Cancer Centre team), at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH). These posts are to commence as soon as possible.CUH is a recognised Cancer Centre for Gynaecological Oncology within the East of England Cancer Alliance and is responsible for providing both local and subspecialist services. Main duties of the job

The two successful candidates will work as a Consultant team to provide Cancer Unit level diagnostic and treatment services to our local population, working collaboratively with the subspecialty Gynae-oncology team. Benign Gynaecology is hosted within a different directorate within CUH and the successful candidates will be responsible for liaising between the two departments.

The main objectives of the roles are to deliver local referral and diagnostic services including triage, Advice and Guidance, and outpatient clinics (hysteroscopy, colposcopy, USCP). There will be an opportunity to deliver specialist clinics together with regular theatre sessions. The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of NHS Cancer Pathway Targets and lead the weekly unit MDT, as well as attending the specialist MDT sessions.

The successful candidate will be required to participate in the gynaecology on-call rota, which also involves supporting obstetric emergencies where gynaecological surgical input is required.You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview having completed RCOG ATSM or equivalent in Gynaecological Oncology.
