Key role in Paediatric Audiology

Are you looking to take a step up in your career in Paediatric Audiology? This could be the role you are looking for. We have a vacancy for our Deputy Head of Paediatric Audiology post due to internal promotion. This is an exciting time for our service after several key staff changes as we seek to develop and strengthen our paediatric service.

This role has been re-structured to include a focus on paediatric electrophysiology testing, with responsibilities across audiology and the hearing implant team in assuring quality in this area.

This is an important role in delivering specialist clinical activity in paediatric audiology with the chance to develop your leadership skills in a supportive environment. We are a large tertiary service with an active research programme.

You will be a Specialist Audiologist / Clinical Scientist / Healthcare Scientist with existing training and experience in paediatric audiology. If you can demonstrate a high standard of clinical abilities and a proven track record of service development, we would be interested to hear from you. You must have excellent communication skills and have a desire to find creative and effective solutions for children/young people of all ages and their families. High level expertise with ABR testing is also required. Evidence of where you have already shown skills in leadership is expected and experience in line management would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

1. Deputy lead for the paediatric audiology service and to work with the head of the paediatric team in developing the paediatric service

2. Provision of clinical specialist services in Paediatric Audiology

3. Leadership of paediatric electrophysiology services across Hearing Services (Audiology and hearing implants)

We are a training department and you would be expected to take a significant role in our STP training programme.

You will have at least a BSc or MSc in Audiology or equivalent and STP (or equivalence) and be a registered Clinical Scientist with the HCPC. HSST would be desirable.
