An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified obstetric sonographer to join our team in the Rosie Ultrasound Department. You will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and willing to teach. We work closely with the Fetal Medicine department and the Early Pregnancy Unit.
PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO QUALIFIED SONOGRAPHERS.
Main duties of the job
To participate in the delivery of a high-quality responsive ultrasound service, managing an unpredictable workload according to department needs for the Trust.
To be responsible for carrying out early pregnancy and / or obstetric ultrasound scans to include dating / NT measurement, fetal anomaly screening and third trimester. The post will include some weekend work to cover the early pregnancy assessment service.
To join a multidisciplinary team participating in service delivery, teaching, research, audit and management activities as required.
To independently undertake ultrasound examinations, communicating the results to patients and other staff. Make appropriate clinical decisions about further actions or referrals in accordance with local and National guidelines.
To provide high quality training to relevant staff in all aspects of obstetric and early pregnancy scanning.
To maintain a high level of professionalism and act as a source of expertise to other members of the multidisciplinary team.
