Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant in Endocrinology and General (Internal) Medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Addenbrooke's Hospital). This post is available for 6 months in the first instance.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the development and expansion of our nationally and internationally recognised thyroid service and also to contribute to other areas of endocrine practice spanning outpatient and inpatient activities. The appointee will be expected to contribute to in-patient duties, which includes some general medical patients, but not to the general medical on-call rota.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of endocrine disorders and will be involved in teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and other healthcare professionals.

Working on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus also offers unrivalled opportunity to collaborate with Cambridge University and other local research institutes and pharmaceutical companies, as the campus continues its rapid expansion and consolidates its position as one of Europe's leading centres of biomedical research.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Diabetes and Endocrinology with G(I)M or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Applications from job seekers who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
