Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5/ST6+) in Medical Virology, at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This post is available to commence from 02 April 2025 until 31 August 2025.

The post is available to applicants who have clinical experience and qualifications equivalent to ST3 level or above.

Main duties of the job

In provision with Consultant and Specialty Registrar colleagues of a service to Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the Medical Virology department; this includes participation to the Medical Virology clinical rota and out of hour on-call rota (1:4) when required as well as responsibility for liaison with laboratory staff and administrative work. The post holder will be expected to share duties to cover the service with training grade registrars in Medical Virology.

Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.

About us

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
