Job summary
The role is based at the Cambridge Clinical Research Centre (CCRC), which houses The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and Medical Research Council (MRC)/Wellcome funded Clinical Research Facilities, located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, the largest biomedical research campus in Europe, home to two NHS flagship Trusts, multiple world-class research Institutes, the University School of Clinical Medicine and a thriving biopharma ecosystem.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will work in collaboration with members of our Senior Leadership Team (Clinical Directors, CRF Manager, Matrons, Workforce and Quality Assurance (QA) leads) to deliver our program of work.
Main duties of the job
You will directly lead on the development and implementation of the CCRC workforce and quality assurance strategies, you will deputise for the Director of Operations and you will lead on new CRF clinical research infrastructure developments.
You will be a compassionate and inclusive leader with early phase clinical research delivery, clinical research workforce development and QA experience in large and complex organisations. You will inspire confidence built on your knowledge and expertise and support our work functions to enable the CCRC to deliver our strategic objectives; delivering world leading complex early phase experimental medicine research to improve patient care, supporting our staff, and building for the future. You will have well-developed communication, leadership and problem-solving capabilities, and an understanding of the UK Health Research and Life Sciences agendas.
You will build excellent working relationships with campus based clinical research infrastructure leads, investigators, host Trust R&D and workforce leads, and with relevant regional and national research networks.
