Job summary

Due to the promotion of the current post holder, we are seeking a highly driven, enthusiastic and organised individual to join the Clinical Income Team on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Senior Income Analyst, you will be an integral part of the team and a key link with the wider finance team and stakeholders across the trust. You will manage the collection and preparation of the supplementary activity data to account for over £23m per month, liaise with significant numbers of operational colleagues, ensure data reporting is accurate and timely and provide support in the provision of Clinical Income information across the Trust and to Commissioners. The role requires strong Excel and some SQL skills and experience of working with and analysing large, complex data sets.

Applicants should demonstrate a positive can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. An understanding of NHS clinical income policies would be beneficial to the role

This is a very unique role within a friendly team of 13 people. We work very flexibly, with currently 60% remote working and 40% in the office on the main CUH Campus.

Main duties of the job

The Income Analyst will :

-Assist in the provision of financial support and advice to Trust Directorates and will work alongside Divisional Finance Teams and Service Managers to establish a sound basis for the planning and development of clinical pathways.

-Assist the Senior Income Analyst in ensuring that robust reporting information is provided to enable directorates to manage their income position and the Trust to fulfil its financial duties.

-Work with the commissioning team in dealing with billing queries from CCGs. They will liaise with other income team colleagues over technical disputes and deal with other queries directly. They will be required to liaise with the Income Manager to ensure that appropriate credit notes are raised where appropriate, in order to resolve disputed items and incorporate these within the Trust's data feed.

-Be required to manipulate complicated spreadsheets and will therefore require significant Excel and some SQL skills.

-Liaise with the Information team and Operational colleagues on a regular basis, in order to ensure timely receipt of raw data and to undertake some data quality checks.

- At times be required to liaise with external parties such as CCGs & other commissioners and FOI (Freedom of Information) requests. In addition the post holder will be required to assist auditors.

  • Part-qualified level of Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB), or equivalent experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Educated to at least A-level or equivalent
